Be aware of any current Govt Covid-19 rulings or provisions. Members must provide their own sanitisers, gloves, wipes, masks, etc. If car pooling/shuffling is required please contact the event co-ordinator.
Meet at the southern end of the Lavington Coles carpark on Urana Rd, at 8.30am. From here we can arrange a car pool for the 100km trip to The Rock, NSW (allow 1 and 1/2 hours).
The Rock walk is within The Rock Nature Reserve. NO DOGS ALLOWED. On arrival we will start with BYO morning tea.
After doing the dishes we commence the walk with the 3km (1 1/2 hr) walk up the moderately steep Yerong Track to the top. On the way is the Kengal Aboriginal Place. Lunchtime at the summit; great views.
Then we descend via the new 3km Yugay track (1 1/2 hr grade 4). This is a steep descent with some rock scrambling - grade 4.
For those not wanting to do this rather demanding walk can return to the picnic area via the Yerong Track.
Toilets are available at the picnic area within the nature reserve.
Back to Lavington around 4pm.
Any late cancellations please call me on 0456 100 183.
GRADE 2
No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.
GRADE 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.
