Gundabooka Nat Park is an ancient Mountain Range sticking up from the flat western plains about 30 K south of the Darling River and Bourke. Stoney creeks run from its rocky slopes with the eastern end bordering attractive open woodlands. This will be a 3 day exploratory hard walk in the Gundabooka national park, limiting the numbers to a small group, no more than 6 people.
Accommodation is booked at Belah Shearers Quarters for Saturday the 21 September, $40 per person. The plan is to leave at approximately 4:30 am on the Saturday morning, stay at Belah that night ready for an early start Sunday morning. Sunday (dawn) start with a walk to the top of Mt Gundabooka 425m follow the range around to Mulgowan Aboriginal art site to camp. Monday returning to the cars along the base of the range, with the option of a second night camping. Troy and I are also thinking of staying at Redbank Homestead on the Monday night, to explore a little more of the history of the area, let me know if this interests you.
