Many thanks to Claire Greenhalgh from the Sustainability Activity Centre for the use of the facilities and amenities. The hall was free of charge and, tea and coffee is supplied.  Members were asked to bring a plate

Presidents report - Di Ross

 Looking back I remember saying to one of the members after the first issue I dealt with, right I have 11 months and 2 weeks to go, bring it on !!!

I absolutely loved the challenge of helping bring the Hans Kaspers memorial event together, supporting this year’s Mt Bogong Conquestathon and trying to help and provide support to members, not to mention trying to maintain a high standard of leadership while trying to juggle family, work, me time and sport.

All committee members have made important contributions to the club’s development over this year and I would like to thank them for their efforts as well as supporting myself as President.

I'm grateful to you for giving me the opportunity to work with you all and have enjoyed my time. Thank you also goes to the members; some incredible memories over the last year.

I look forward to seeing this club grow in all areas, supporting new ideas, continue to support leaders and seeing younger generations attend events. This is such an amazing club with so much to offer to our community.

Membership Report - JAN DOUGLAS

 The membership system continues to work well with most members logging in to the website and either paying via Paypal or paying offline via funds transfer. This is greatly appreciated as it smooths the way for efficient management by the membership person. Even offline payments (bank transfers) are easier to manage if people login and interact with the membership system first before (or even after) sending us the money. The website goes into its 9th year with the same software platform from day 1 in July 2011 ie the free open source content management system called Joomla, a server based in Singapore and a series of paid for extensions created by teams of programmers in Switzerland, Romania and the US - for full details of all the software used on the MVB website go to the Aug 18 2017 AGM 

In My Dreams

The really burning issue to simplify membership / event registration procedures is to merge the two operations which are currently carried out on the clubs website (new memberships and renewals) and  Google drive (event registration). If I can free up some time by allocating tasks to others I hopefully will be able to report back in the next AGM that we have data exchange happening accurately and conveniently. 

The clubs Facebook group is open to the public and has 264 (227) members many of whom are not MVB members -  similarly there are MVB members who dont use Facebook. Facebook privacy credentials have taken a hammering recently but we continue to utilise this social media tool as it provides extensive publicity for the club.  

HOME PAGE SLIDESHOW The programming of this is an aspect of the website that would very easily be picked up by a member. It needs updating more often and I dont have the time.

There are some short videos on the website now on how to best leverage the fabulous stash of photos on our Flickr site and Facebook - get in touch with Tony if interested to learn how - its very rewarding work!

The website  - Ther are some mobile device issues - a major website overhaul is pending - Neil Brown has offered his services to help trial new templates - in the middle of yet another amazing ski season Im off track on this.

For a club of our size to engage our members 1274 times over 206 events in a 12 month period is truly amazing! 

Our event management practices are without doubt the way we achieve this

Contrary to way most clubs operate our leaders are empowered to publish new events before messaging the Events Coordinator that a new event has been created - this makes it easy for the coordinator to review  the event and approve, unpublish or suggest changes - leaders are required to submit a new event notification form - you can access the New Event Submission Form here

This gets events up on the program very quickly - but most importantly it provides quality assurance of the clubs program of events

Club fund raisING - the Bunnings Sunday morning sausage sizzle and the Bogong Conquestathon are both lucrative fund raising activities that we wish to continue - volunteers are always welcome

Ive got to single out Peter Presutti for special thanks! As a founding member, tech supporter and legend Peter is a gem!  After 7 years of great service to the club you can now take a year off Pete!

As at the close of nominations for the 2019-20 committee (august 9 2019) the secretary role was vacant.

The chairperson asked for a volunteer from the floor to fill the vacant Secretary role and Alison Dallinger offered her services and was approved by the meeting - proposed by Carmen Huser and seconded by Liz Parish Motion carried

A committe of 9 persons was duly elected to manage Murray Valley Bushwalkers for the 2019-2020 period

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the members to thank Tony Marsh for the many hours  that he puts into managing the club website and generally being willing to help in so many other ways to ensure the smooth working of the club..Many thanks Tony

Under our constitution a member can only serve 4 consecutive years as a committee member so after serving 4 years Peter has earn a rest...I would like to thank Peter for contributing so much to MVB....notice I only said a rest!

Dianne Ross decided to stand down as president but is happy to stay on the committee which is awesome...so to Di thank for your leadership for the past 12 months. 

Kathleen decided not to continue on the committee but I would like to thank her for her contribution for the past 12 months.
