Event Report: Harrington's Track to Surveyors Creek and the Jack Riley memorial. It is an easy 20 km return walk, some short up and downs, only one is slightly longer and steeper, not much 15 minutes each way.
Its a good track hugging the hill along the Murray River. Sometimes up high above, then down by the water. This time the River carried a lot of brown water from the heavy rain 2 days earlier.
At Clover Flat about halve way is a good Morning Tea spot .A huge fallen Tree seated all 10 of us comfortable, water view and a beach makes this spot perfect. We spotted a lot of fungies on the way. The weather was kind, a light rain on the way back was all, we could not complain. Since 3 members from the Tumut Club joined us on the walk we got treated with there famous afternoon Tea. Arriving back by the Cars after 4 pm, 3 moor Tumut Club Members waited for us to join in on the scrumptious feast of Tea and Coffee, 6 different slices and Bicis. About 20 min. into our snacking on calories the sky opened with heavy rain. On the drive to Khancoban to the Pub for dinner we could hardly see the road. It was a nice way to finish the Day not having to cook dinner
