McAlister Springs Car Camp

On Saturday 1st Nov. (Cup Weekend), we are travelling to Licola, then into the Alpine National Park where we will car camp at the location called the Viewing Point.
 
On Sunday, we will do a day walk out towards Mt. Buggery, along the Crosscut Saw and look into Terrible Hollow.
 
On Monday, another day walk in another direction. Tuesday will be the drive back home.
 
This is an exploratory walk for most of us, but for some it is trip down memory lane.
 
It is approximately 6 - 6 1/2 hours from Wodonga to Licola, whether you come through Mitta & Omeo, or down the Hume, through Melbourne and head east.
 
The local ranger advised me that it is about 1 hour 20 mins from Licola to the Viewing Point.
 
There is no water available at the car park, so will have to bring your own.
 
Located here is the Viking Circuit which would take approximately 4 days to do, so this trip gives an idea for returning again in the future and do a longer walk.
