The Ryder Spur walk at Tawonga is not suitable to attempt right now as it will be very muddy and slippery due to the recent rain. .
The Beechworth to Everton rail trail is likely to be more suitable under these wet conditions.
It starts at the Beechworth railway station and goes for 17km, mostly downhill and is classified Grade 2. The walk finishes at the Everton Rail Station which is on the Wangaratta to Bright Rail Trail. A possibility of lunch at the Everton Hotel.
Walkers must abide by any current State and Federal Covid-19 health requirements and provide their own sanitisers, gloves, wipes, masks, etc.
Dogs OK .
Meet at Bunnings carpark, Wodonga at 8am where car pooling will be arranged. Or alternatively meet at the Beechworth Rail Station at 9am. Please advise me where you would prefer to meet.
Toilets available at Wodonga Bunnings carpark, Beechworh and Everton.
Bring water, morning tea and lunch.

GRADE 2
No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.
GRADE 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.
Day Walking

- Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
- Sunscreen
- Gloves and hat
- Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event
- Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
- Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
- Walking poles
- Gaiters
- Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
- Torch or headlamp for contingencies
