Tuesday morning walk - Nail Can Hill, Lavington - Reedy Dam: 9km - grade 3; expect hills

 Meet at the start (northern end) of the Nail Can Hill Ridge Track on Centaur Road, Lavington at 8.30am.

After a short climb along the Ridge Trail, we will explore Red Door trail to Reedy Dam. Then take Waterview Track up to the lookout over the west of Albury. Then we take the MBT trail Paper Plate. Back onto the Ridge Track, Coopers Trail, and more MBTrails such as Missing Link, Mitch's, Lightning Strike and Daybreak before rejoining the Ridge trail and heading back to the cars.

No toilets available on this walk.

Bring a morning tea snack.   DOGS ok.

Coffee and cake afterwards for those interested.

GRADE 2

No bushwalking experience required. The track has a hardened or compacted surface that may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps.

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

Day Walking

  • Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
