Day Walks

Regular walks are happening on Tuesdays, and Weekends.

Iris has a great walk to Black Jack Fire Tower on the Manjar Track  Sat 18th April.  about an hour past Corryong.

Hans had put up a day walk to Mt Jack on Anzac Day

Evening Walks

We have had a few evening walk of late, one Huon Hill walk we were blessed with a Sound & Light Show ,  Some Rain and a lot of high winds.

Now, join in for a BBQ tea (( BYO ALL ) And a chair ) at the BBQ Park in Jamison Drive, Baranduda. from about 5:30 ish.

After dinner we can walk off the delights with a 7k walk around the northern end of the Range. should take about 90 minutes. LINK

MVB Events Program Update #10 Sept 7th  2015

second week of Spring  --- 

 

 the numbers for this Friday are not looking good

if you have intentions of coming along please jump on the website and let us know

 

Annual General Meeting - continuation this Friday

Not quite enough members turned up to form a quorum on August 14,  Club Rules Item 10  - Link to Read 

Please note that the club received just enough nominations to fill all 6 committee positions.

The AGM will resume on Friday evening 11th September at the 10 Pin Bowling Center, Sanyo Drive Wodonga  6:30 PM to ratify the committee.

After a quick Meeting - we will adjourn to the Bowling Lanes and spend $ 16.00 and enjoy an excellent evening

Food is available at the venue if you want to indulge..

Day Walks

The cold and rain seems to have taken its toll on the day walks both weekend and Tuesdays

Packhorse trail - on again for mid October 18th

and -- Car Camp at Mountain Creek Friday and Saturday and do the Bogong Loop Saturday morning 20k

 

Nail Can Wildflowers Walk. Saturday 19th Sapt.

Hans is leading a walk from 9:3 to 12:30 and we have the opportunit y to have a stall / dislay promoting our club

WE need helpers on the day -

 

Backpacking

Care to try out backpacking for a few days on the High Plains?  We will start form Cope Hut, Friday 2nd October.

or come along Saturday for a shorter walk from Watchbed Creek - to Edmundson Hut and onwards

A bit early but - I have put it up, multi day hike from Mountain Creek to Harrietville March 2106 (Bail or Join at Falls if suits)

 

BBQ, Evening Walk and Spotlight

Well the last event was a beauty.  need to plan another asap.  Next Full Moon anyone..  or maybe a New Moon

MVB Events Program Update #11 Sept 14th  2015

Day Walks

Wildflower Walk, Nail Can led by Hans this Saturday 19th Sept.

 The club has a table at the start to advertise our activities.

       AND  If you can help as a volunteer at the table  PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL  0417441137 

               from 8:30am  Sat Morning to 1pm at latest, Range Road Nail Can Entrance.

Iris is leading a walk to Zulu Mine also on this Saturday

Another Baranduda Beginner day walk - Lower north of range

        AND  we hope to hide 4 geocaches for the Club -( Team MVB )

             Parts of this walk will be off track - and with some great views

MVB Events Update Sunday 19th April 2015

The New MVB Website

This has been a long time coming but finally its here - first thing you will notice is the Upcoming Events listing on the website is not in chronological order - we are working on it! and its reproduced below and after some deft cutting and pasting is now up to scratch. Editor note: as at April 21 this issue has now been resolved

The update was required because the previous version of the software that drives the website was out of date and was no longer being supported. This had security implications so the upgrade was essential. You will notice changes but hopefully you wont be scratching your head for too long. Please advise Tony or Peter if you are experiencing problems and cannot see a way around it. A known issue is an error message that appears after you press continue after receiving acknowledgement of an event booking.that says "You are not authorized to view this resource". You can safely ignore this as the booking completes successfully anyway. We have not fully tested how the new site behaves on mobile devices so any feedback on this would be appreciated.

Believe it or not we are not as comfortable in the role of computer nerds as we are playing the role of bushwalkers getting out and about and doing this sort of thing!

Cycling

Its great to see a number of cycling events - note John Jamison has an evening ride to the Barnie Pub this week and Anne is taking a ride out to Wonga Wetlands on the new track.

Corryong Crew

The Upper Murray contingent of the club are back in numbers and Iris is leading day walks into areas new for the club.

Hans continues to find more and more fascinating places to walk both midweek and on weekends - who has been to Mt Jack before? or even know where it is (out past Dederang I believe)

Harringtons track is a wonderful walk along the Murray that Iris has led before and is offering it again on May 2nd

Evening walks resume on May 5th with Peter on McFarlanes Hill and there is a great opportunity to walk the Flaggy Creek Gorge track in Mt Lawson State Park with Hans on May 9th

Loyal traditionalists in the club will jump at the opportunity to have High Tea on the cycling bridge at Sandy Creek with the Rail Trail group on May 16th

Canoeing at Bundalong

Unfortunately the final magnum opus event had to be cancelled due to the weather this weekend - but we are pretty certain the river will still be there next time we program the event!
