Due to COVID-19 health requirements, members must provide their own sanitisers, gloves, wipes, masks, etc.
Normal social distancing rules will apply. If 1.5m cannot be maintained then a mask needs to be worn.
If car pooling is required masks will need to be worn in the car.
Hope to see you there
Hot off the press!
This year we are going to camp at club members Gary Guidotti and Shirley Collins place at Bundalong - their backyard abuts the Ovens River and should be a great place to camp and paddle from. Please be mindful of any CFA fire restrictions.
Directions to the campsite - 6899 Murray Valley Highway, Esmond. If coming from Albury travel approx 26km past Rutherglen. After crossing the Ovens River, we are 500 metres on the left. You will see the bluish colour house.
View from the Murray Valley Highway - 500 metres on the left after the bridge
Drive in, turn left and go past the caravan and shed heading towards the river. There is ample parking/tenting spaces - two locations are offered. The bank is not that level but you have access to the river but no shade and no water available (byo recommended anyway). The second spot is 400 metres from the river has trees for shade and has water from a bore. On your arrival we can discuss any issues you may have and make the call where to camp. There is an outside shower available (zero privacy!) and we will have the club long drop (well as long as we can dig!) in operation.
Well behaved and controlled dogs (and owners) are welcome!

Canoeing The Ovens and Murray in 2021
Cost of kayak, pfd and paddle hire for the weekend to be confirmed for this year - and will be hired from Murray River Canoe Hire but you can also bring your own gear. If in doubt our preference is for you to hire as we know the Dave's boats are safe and stable in the Ovens and the Murray Rivers.
The 15km loop paddle out and back from 2016 campsite mapped below has been traditionally paddled on this weekend and may still be on offer depending on enthusiasm.
Also we thought to venture upstream on the Ovens this year to explore the myriad of channels - other options may be suggested.
