 Cravensville turnoff

Come along and enjoy the tranquil Koetong state forest.

We will be walking 13km and organising a car shuffle at the beginning which avoids walking on the main logging road which is a very hard surface.  This hike is all on track Grade 3, but requires reasonable fitness levels and hiking footwear that is broken in.

If coming from Wodonga direction and wanting to car pool, let me know and I'll give names to Iris who will oversee nobody gets left behind unless they slept in or are 1 minute late.  Meet at Bunnings car park back wall near KFC , opposite Bunnings main entrance. by 7.20am for 7.30am departure.  Bring cash for drivers of car shuffle.

8.30 a.m. meet at corner of Murray Valley Highway and Cravensville Rd. The map shows this meeting point, circled in blue. Work out number of cars required for next car shuffle.

Drive along the gravel Cravensville road, dropping off hikers and dogs at Edgar track turnoff. Cars go 3 km further to Lake Williams track, park required number of cars there and drive the drivers back along the road to where everyone is waiting at Edgar Track.  Hike along Edgar track, then a short walk along the edge of the pines, eventually arriving at Lake Williams, then on towards where the vehicles are parked.

Bring morning tea and lunch - It can get very cold up here in early spring, especially when stopping for lunch or if it rains, so waterproofs and a warm jacket are essential. Plan is to start walking at 9am, reach the cars by 3pm and be back in Wodonga or Corryong between 4-4.30pm.

Dogs are welcome, but DEECA wild dog baiting program start date is 2.9.24. ***EDIT Have spoken with Tallangatta office and they assure me no baits will have been laid near our hike by 14 Sep***
