Overnight backpacking hike Grade 3, meeting in Corryong 7.30am and starting with a car shuffle for the end of the walk so we have cars at Tooma Dam.
Anyone wanting to camp close by on Friday night 7 March, can book a campsite at Clover Flat, or stay in Corryong. It's a 45 minute drive from Corryong. Meeting place in Corryong TBA.
***UPDATE***
Group 1 - EASY OPTION - Hike into Wheeler's Hut with Jan & Iris via Paton's Hut 12km but not too steep.
Group 2 - HARD OPTION - Hike up Snakey Plain Trail. Lunch will be somewhere along the track. Set up camp and enjoy the serenity at Wheeler's Hut. 9km very steep, lots of uphill and downhill. At least one hiking pole is needed for safety on the steep downhills.
Sunday after brekky we all make our way down to the Tooma river, cross over and head towards Paton's Hut on the Dargals Trail. Morning Tea or Lunch at Patons Hut. 12km
Bring water Shoes for the Tooma river crossing!!!!
Registrations will close on Friday 28th February or if we reach the maximum number of 14 people, so the car pool and car shuffle can be arranged. Bring cash to pay car drivers.
GRADE 3
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

- Keep clothing in a water tight bag - zip lock - dry bags etc..

- Warm Gloves and Water Proof Over Glove plus a Benie or suitable walk hat.
- Essentials
- Tooth Brush and paste
- Any medication ( please inform leader if necessary Allergies etc)
- Personal first aid
- Water to drink and prepare meal ( some locations and walks have water on site or en route )
- Leader should inform the group re water supply
- Tablets for water ( be safe rather than get a bug ) ( water purification tablets )
- Toilet paper and trowl to dig appropiate hole.
- Food
- Dehydrated food for weight considerations
- 3 Meals , plus snacks. per day.
- Stove (another item that can be shared)
- Plate and cuttlery
- Cup for warm drink your choice
