Baranduda Range Flora Survey
This plant had not been recorded in the area for over 50 years and was re-discovered in 2007 on the north west slopes of Baranduda regional park. It has an exquisite flower and the group is doing its best to propogate this rare and attractive little plant.
Its a reasonable grade and good general fitness desired as the walk is steep in sections and takes over an hour each way. Along the way we'll see plenty of interesting flora, fauna and good views of the surrounding landscape. Once there we GPS locate and monitor existing plants noting the number of flower spikes on each. This gives and idea of the likely pod production and identifies which plants to check later in the year for seed collection. We have a propagation program underway to boost numbers). The main purpose during this flowering period is to survey immediate surrounding the area to try to find any new plants not previously detected. Probably allow 4 hours all up.
