Meeting 7.30 am at David Bayne Park on Huon Creek Rd. Wodonga

 

 

This is a Dog friendly event. We drive to  Buckland Gap in Beechwort. The walk starts from the picknick area ( Corner Six mile Rd. and Lady Newton Rd.) and will take us along  the forest tracks.  At Bates Dam we can inspect an old Boiler from the gold mining area. The walk will be around 15km.

Bring Water, Sacks and Lunch.

A short stop at Murmungee Lookout, then Coffee and Cake in Beechworth

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

 

What to bring for Day Walking

  • Current Medical Information Form FOUND ON THE WEBSITE HERE
  • Water - up to 2 litres recommended for a full day walk
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event 
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
