Kosciuszko National Park Day Walks and Car Camp Grade 3,

 The plan is to camp at Kosciuszko Tourist Park.

Arrive Friday afternoon, or arrive Saturday. If you come early Saturday, we could wait for you, to join the first walk.
National Park pass required

Kosciuszko Tourist park is a big park with lovely big trees. Plenty of shade and space.

Tent Sites, Budget cabins,  Large camp Kitchen, Shower and Toilet Block.

People will need to book their own Tent sites. 

When we have an idea of how many are coming, -- I can then book a cabin, 

which can sleep up to 5 people, (with No ensuite), for approx. $125 per person for 4 x nights.   

If you require ensuite in a cabin you will need to book your own.

 EVENT will be LIMITED to 14 bookings. After 14 bookings you will need to go on a WAIT LIST. 

All walks will be Grade 3.

 

Day 1  Guthega to Charlottes Pass --9km one way.

-includes Iiiawong walk. Parts of the track are Metal Grid.

Part of the new 'Snowies Alpine walk" .

Car Shuffle required.

 

Day 2 Rennix Walk ....13kms return

Through subalpine meadow, crossing several forested ridges.

 

Day3...? Yet to be decided.

GRADE 3

Suitable for most ages and fitness levels. Some bushwalking experience recommended. Track may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps.

 

Day Walking / XC Skiing / Snowshoeing in the Alps

    Activities in the Alps require additional safety equipment due to the fact that weather can change really quickly from benign to dangerous
  • Current Medical Information Form - LOGIN FIRST  and then it can be FOUND ON THE WEBSITE HERE 
  • Water - 2 litres recommended - exercise in the Alps uses prodigious amounts of fluid
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves and hat
  • Sufficient food bearing in mind the distance and duration of the event (snacks for morning and afternoon tea and lunch)
  • Suitable clothing and footwear - note denim pants are uncomfortable
  • Wet weather waterproofs, jacket and pants
  • Thermal top and bottoms
  • Walking poles
  • Gaiters
  • Basic first aid kit including your specific medication eg asthma applicator
  • Torch or headlamp for contingencies
  • Whistle
  • Toilet paper, trowel and sanitiser
  • A set of dry clothing in a separate bag to be left in the car to change into if you get wet
