Anyone wanting to camp close by on Friday night 7 March, can book a campsite at Clover Flat, or stay in Corryong. It's a 45 minute drive from Corryong.
Hike up Snakey Plain Trail. Lunch will be somewhere along the track. Set up camp and enjoy the serenity at Wheeler's Hut. 9km
Next day after brekky we make our way down to the Tooma river, cross over and head towards Paton's Hut on the Dargals Trail. Morning Tea or Lunch at Patons Hut. 11km
Day 1 is up and down, 1 long steep up, plus 1 short steep up and down. Steep climb out of the river.
Day 2 steep climb out of the river then almost flat.
Bring water Shoes for the river crossing!!!!
If anyone has Monday 10 March off (Labour Day public holiday in VIC but not NSW), we could camp at Paton's Hut and do an exploratory day hike of the Thiess Village Fire Trail. This will need to be organised in advance so we can work out the car shuffle and if we have 1 group or 2 groups. As we are a club, we require at least 2 people in each group for safety. Each group will need a PLB.
